A World That Was

A World That Was is a choral suite in three parts, responding to two of Patrick Kavanagh’s poems that deal with memory: Primrose¬†and¬†October. I was interested in creating a contour between these two poems through music, as they always seemed to me to be in a discussion about what the act of remembering entails, and how the present has a role in the changing of the past. The piece has not yet been performed before an audience.
